Tapan Das

Tapan Kumar Dash is a Bhubaneswar-based artist known for his introspective and metaphor-rich figurative works. A graduate of B.K. College of Art & Crafts (1995), Dash creates paintings that explore the dialogue between imagery and personal memory, blending local dialects with a universal visual language.
His art resists thematic confinement, instead weaving together disparate subjects through a consistent tone of emotional intensity, silence, and symbolic layering. Dash's vibrant, expressive figures reflect everyday characters reimagined with psychological depth and intuitive composition. Through repeated self-representation and metaphor, his work becomes a quiet, contemplative journey—both personal and cosmic.
With multiple solo shows and inclusion in collections across India and abroad, Dash continues to refine a visual language that is both rooted and resonant across cultures.
