Sourav Shee

Sourav Shee is a visual artist based in Kolkata, where he was born and raised in the southern part of the city. A graduate of The Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship, he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2022. Since then, he has been fully immersed in his artistic journey, with a focused commitment to the practice of painting. In 2024, Sourav presented his debut solo exhibition at the New South Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata — a significant milestone that marked his emergence as an independent voice in the contemporary art scene. His works have also been featured in several group exhibitions and award shows across the country. Rooted in a realistic tradition, Sourav’s paintings serve as a meditative space where thought meets form. Through realism, he finds a language that allows him to express the subtleties of his inner world with clarity and conviction.
