A figure study in pen and ink, worked at a small, intimate scale. Ranjan Mukhopadhyay builds the form almost entirely from line — hatching, contour and the bare paper left to do its own work — so the figure reads as much through what is left out as what is set down. Pen and ink allows no second guesses, and that directness is part of what makes the drawing hold.
