Dhar, born in 1953, trained at the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, studied under Atul Bose at the French Atelier, and went on to specialise in murals and mosaics through a fellowship from the French Ministry.

Ramlal Dhar (b. 1953) was born into a world rich with artistic potential.
