'Mandir + Rickshawale' — a small watercolour on paper by Ananda Das. A temple and the rickshaw-pullers before it, a slice of Kolkata street life caught with the spiritual, romantic touch his work is known for.

Born in Kolkata in 1974 and trained from the age of fourteen at the Bengal School of Arts, Das is the son of artist Lakshmi Narayan Das.

Ananda Das, born in 1974 in Kolkata, is a self-taught Indian artist known for his realistic and figurative paintings that evoke a sense of spirituality and romance. Son of the eminent artist Lakshmi Narayan Das, Ananda began his training at the Bengal School of Arts at the young age of fourteen. His artworks often depict religious and mystical themes, capturing the reality of the world combined with detailed beauty. Das's paintings have been exhibited in Mumbai, Kolkata, Gujarat, and Delhi, and he has participated in art camps across India
