Ganesh Chandra Basu (b. 1963) is a Kolkata-based contemporary artist and writer whose prolific international presence spans over three decades. Known for his expressive visual language and cross-cultural artistic dialogue, Basu has held more than 50 solo exhibitions and participated in over 100 group and international shows across India, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
His work—deeply rooted in intuitive exploration and layered symbolism—reflects a constant engagement with tradition, identity, and global consciousness. From the Jehangir Art Gallery and Lalit Kala Akademi to the Venice Biennale and museums in Norway, South Korea, and China, Basu’s paintings have found space in some of the most prestigious venues and collections worldwide.
